Up, up, and away.

It's been awfully quiet here the last ten days. "Silence radio," as they say in French. But let me tell you, in the real-life EJA studio, things have been anything but quiet, between jewelry look-books, apartment design features, my very first maternity and newborn sessions, wrapping up the exhilarating last few months of gorgeous weddings I've gotten to shoot, and, the biggie, prepping for our big East African adventure, I've barely had a moment to think about anything beyond my daily race against the clock.
But we're off now (about to land at Heathrow as I hen peck this post out on my iphone, and I suspect Jacob and I will both be doing quite a bit of thinking in the next three weeks. We've been asked to document in images and audio, an exciting program of World Relief called Savings for Life. We'll be posting our initial sketches in photos and writing over at The Audio Photo Document (as internet connections allow). We'd love to hear what you think! You can also follow us on Twitter (EJAphoto and JacobDAnderson. If you don't already have an account, what better time to see what the Twitter hype is all about?!)

I'm off to peek out my little window at the English countryside far below before I miss my chance! Do stop in over the next few weeks for more jswank designs work and a glimpse of the sweetest newborn you'll ever lay eyes on...

Ps. For those of you who enjoy home design, word has it our place was featured on Apartment Therapy yesterday...

jswank designs

I had the glorious opportunity to photograph Jenn of jswank design's fall jewelry collection this week end, and I just couldn't wait for her to return from vacation to share a few images. Visit her etsy shop here for some real delights while you wait for her new fall line! (I'm sorely tempted to start raving about the all the feathers and perfect asymmetrical pieces coming up, but I'll contain my excitement.)

Clarence

Angela, Mike and Clarence spent the morning revisiting some of their favorite walks in Lincoln park... Their Clarence is a dear, and photographs so well, doesnt' he?

Ariel & Michael

I had the most magical morning photographing Ariel & Michael for their engagement session. They're so fun to be around, partly because they have so much fun together! I just loved seeing the affection they clearly have for each other. After some time in the sun at Oak Street beach, we made our way to Peoria street in the West loop to create a little photographic nod to the town where they met... and do some handstands!

I can't wait for their October wedding at the MCA!

Sneak Peek: Ariel & Michael

I so thoroughly enjoyed the morning I spent with these two a few weeks ago... I can't wait to share all their images with you!

Tim & Evie: IV

Simple, small, urban. These are the words Evie had for her wedding as we discussed final details. It maybe have been small, and simple, but their reception at Enoteca Piattini had enough atmosphere to make intimate Chicago restaurant receptions the new black. Oh, and wait til you spy the custom labels on their wine bottle centerpieces -- the perfect nod to Tim & Evie's art-loving sides. All in all the evening was as pleasant as can be, and I'll definitely be back to Enoteca Piattini for a great dinner and a good dose of reminiscing!) Thanks again for inviting me to document your wedding, Tim & Evie.
