Tim & Evie: &

The Ampersand originates from the Latin "et" and denotes, simply, the combination of two things. Tim & Evie's love of typography made the symbol a natural theme for their wedding day, and you'll see it sprinkled throughout these images of their beautiful celebration, embroidered here & printed there...

Lundi Apres-Midi: Ceramics

As the summer winds to a close and we move into fall weddings, I thought we could all use a fresh batch of singular gift ideas (and a reappearance of the long-dormant Lundi Apres-midi posts!).

I have a great love for pale ceramics, and ever since one of this summer's newlyweds sent us this most incredible bowl from Heath Ceramics, we've taken such great joy in having such a beautifully crafted object in our home that I can't resist wanting to share my favorite designs (and designers) with you!

What are your favorite wedding gifts?

On the way

I recently spent a wonderful afternoon with a good friend documenting the special days while she and her and her husband waited for their little girl... Thanks for welcoming me and the camera, Lindsey. It's an honor.

I can't wait to meet little Lila!

Sneak Peek: Tim & Evie's Simple Modern Wedding

To whet your appetite, a selection of images and a few words to recall a day inspired by typography, shaded with epistemology, and sealed with the music of a minimalist composer.

More blog love!

The weddings around here have been so beautiful and many lately, I almost forgot to mention that the brilliant Joanna Goddard over at A Cup of Jo and her readers had the kindest words for Meg & Robb's engagement session last week. Seriously, you two, you're a HIT!

Oh, and make sure you leave Joanna some kind words of your own, she's getting married this week end!

Aaron & Stephanie III - Sunset over the hills (finale)

The day ended as gracefully as it began, with a celebration nestled in the Anjou Bakery amongst the hills. Much merriment, and even more love.

Steph & Aaron, thanks for inviting us to document this most special day!

Aaron & Stephanie II

I was particularly excited about photographing Steph & Aaron's wedding, because -- of all things -- my mother lived in Wenatchee when she was in the 4th & 5th grade! I'd never been to visit, but while we were there, my sister (who was a bridesmaid) and I tracked down the cute little split-level she used to live in. Even more fun than the house though, was thinking that my mother had lived amongst all these hills and orchards as a girl.

I love the epic landscapes of the west, and I couldn't have been more excited when Aaron asked if he & the guys could roll up their suit pants and wade in the river for a few shots -- Epic.

Aaron & Stephanie said their vows at the altar of Cashmere's St James episcopal church. A tiny house of worship that turned out to be just the right size for their ceremony.

Keep an eye out for images from their even more perfect reception next!
