Lauren & Mark: Sands of the Jersey Shore (Part II)

It was the perfect day in Ocean Grove. The sun was shining, and the joy palpable. As we made our way from the Ocean Vista Hotel to the boardwalk & down under the pier, it was all I could do to soak up the energy and beauty of it all...

{Part III coming soon...}

Lauren & Mark: An evening in Ocean Grove (Part I)

Mark & Lauren's rehearsal dinner was quite the perfect ocean-side affair. They embarked on their wedding week-end with passionate support from their friends and family, much laughter, and, as a dense fog rolled in, outrageous platefuls of barbeque! It was a delight to document the evening. Thanks, Lanker and Castelli families!

Home Sweet

We've spent our spare time these last few days cleaning out closets and returning things to order around here (it seems like it hasn't been itself since the winter!). I have some fun previews from a recent East Coast wedding coming up in the next few days, but I thought I'd share these images I took of the newly spiffed place to pass the time! What do you think?

Coincidences & Flora

Get this. I met with a bride planning her fall of 2010 wedding yesterday, and as we were chatting about her & her fiance's vision (brimming with family heirlooms and handmade treasures!), she began to describe the photo of a bouquet that she kept in her inspiration binder. I first thought it was a simple coincidence that the flowers she described sounded familiar. Orange ranunculus, white hypericum berries.... But when she got to dusty miller and white dahlias I just about fell off my chair. Her inspiration photo is of the bouquet my sister Stefanie and I designed for her wedding last year! Wild. (Photographed by Nancy of the incredible David Wittig Photography duo.)

Have a peek at more of Stef & Sam's lovely wedding featured on The Bride's Cafe!

Michael & Sara: Summer in Chicago

Nothing gets me more excited than discovering great new things, so my Sunday with Michael & Sara was quite the treat, as well as being literally full of treats.

We savored incredible Crespone Salame from the Columbus Salame Company out of San Francisco (whose website rightly claims it's cured wonders are "so authentic they're like a trip to Italy without the passport", and this my friends is of no small value, as I would know since the border control at O'hare confiscated my summer's worth of Italian salame a couple months ago!)

We took in a glittering Lake Michigan, sipped espresso drinks from the expert baristas at The Coffee Studio, and browsed the fresh collections of vintage gifts & home furnishings at Roost and Cottage (a few shops down, which has no website yet, but is well worth the trip for the custom upholstery on vintage pieces).

We wrapped up our shoot right back where we began, at home in Ukrainian Village with Michael & Sara's three favorite four-legged folk... and here are the highlights.
